Brogans liqueur: history, features, how to distinguish a fake + 5 cocktail recipes

Brogans (Brogans) - is a premium Irish cream liqueur characterized by a majestic combination of the best single malt Irish whiskey with fresh cream.

The history of the liqueur

Brogans Patrick was a simple farmer and was engaged in the production of dairy products. Due to his impeccable reputation and the quality of his raw materials, he became a partner of Emmetts Cream Liqueur and supplied them with milk.

Patrick was passionate about creating his own cream liqueur, and even worked in the production for a while Baileys liqueur.

During his cooperation with liquor magnates, he learned all the intricacies of the production of the Irish creamy drink and, having improved its recipe, decided to launch the production of this drink under his own brand.

In 1998, when the farmer was 37 years old, he opened his own company P.G. Brogan & Company. The secret of his drink's success lies in its mild flavor, for which Brogans used a unique type of whiskey that was aged in oak sherry barrels.

Features of the liquor

Brogans is available in 17% strength and has a velvety taste with a magical aroma of caramel, chocolate milk and roasted nuts.

Two main ingredients are used to produce Irish cream liqueur:

  1. High-grade whiskey aged for 10 years by the famous Cooley distillery in Ireland, which is distilled three times and aged exclusively in oak barrels.

  2. Fatty natural cream made from milk from the best farms in Royal County Meath.

The liqueur is available in 350 and 500 ml black bottles with a laconic design.

How to distinguish the original from the fake

Brogans is often counterfeited, and there are several important rules to follow in order not to fall for a low-quality product:

  1. The original bottle does not have any embossed shapes, only in the lower part of the bottle there are small dots that the manufacturer makes for better stability of the bottle.

  2. The stickers on the bottle must be glued evenly and have no leaking glue. A crooked label, a mistake in the inscription or fuzzy logos signal that you are looking at a fake.

  3. Pay attention to the bottle cap, it should be black and have a circular inscription "IRISH CREAM LIQUEUR BROGANS" on top

  4. The so-called shirt, which is located on the neck of the bottle, should have the inscription "BROGANS IRISH CREAM LIQUOR"

  5. The bottle should have an excise stamp, if the federal stamp is pasted instead, it is 100% low-quality product.
