Melon tincture: 3 recipes at home

It's no secret that melon makes the best liqueurs and liqueurs, but if you like stronger or less sweet drinks, you can safely experiment with tinctures.
It is also made from melon: liqueurs and liqueurs, syrup
A simple tincture on melon
Most basic spirits can be used as an alcoholic base for this tincture: good vodka, ordinary brandy or cognac, light rum, as well as impeccably purified double-distilled moonshine or grain alcohol diluted with water to 45 degrees. At the same time, the strength of the tincture can be easily adjusted by adding more alcohol or, in the case of alcohol and moonshine, by reducing the amount of water.
Ingredients
Ripe melon - 2 kg
Alcohol - 1 liter
Sugar (optional) - 200-300 g
Lemon juice (optional) - 15 ml
Ground ginger (optional) - 5 g
Ground cinnamon (optional) - 5 g
Vanilla (optional) - 3-5 g
Method of preparation
Wash the fruit, cut it into halves, remove the seeds, peel off the skin and cut the flesh into cubes up to two cm in size.
Put the melon in a jar, add the desired spices and lemon juice (if you use brandy as alcohol, ginger is not recommended), then pour the alcohol over the melon so that it covers the flesh by at least 4 cm.
Leave the tightly closed jar for 2 weeks in a dark room at room temperature, shaking it well every 4-5 days.
Filter the liquid, gently squeeze the pulp into it, add sugar if necessary, mix thoroughly, pour into bottles and seal them hermetically.
Keep the drink in a cool, dark place for about a week.
Store in the cellar or refrigerator. Before serving, it is recommended to decant the tincture.

To follow with the previous recipe, starting from the very first step.
Tincture inside the melon
As a rule, in this case it is recommended to use vodka, but we will allow ourselves to be irreconcilably categorical: brandy and only brandy!
Ingredients
Ripe sweet melon - 2.5-3 kg
Ordinary brandy or cognac - 500 ml
Method of preparation
Wash the melon and carefully cut off the top.
Thoroughly clean out the seeds.
Pour the alcohol inside (if there is not enough space, you can either leave it as is or remove some pulp).
Put the cut off top back on and wrap the fruit tightly in food-grade plastic.
Put the melon prepared in this way or hang it upside down in a cool, dark room.
After 16 hours, carefully unwrap the cognac berry, pour the tincture into a decanter, and cut the fruit into slices and serve as an appetizer...
