Lime syrup: recipe at home

Lime syrup has a characteristic green color and citrus flavor with a pleasant aroma. No wonder the drink is so popular with bartenders.
Making lime syrup
Ingredients
Limes - 1 kg
Sugar - 1 kg
Water - 1 cup
Method of preparation
Scald the limes with boiling water and pat dry with a towel. For longer storage, they are sometimes covered with a thin layer of paraffin, and these particles can get into the syrup.
Squeeze the juice from the limes.
Pour the resulting juice through a sieve into a saucepan, add water, add all the sugar and cook until the liquid thickens.
Add spices if desired. Cinnamon or mint goes well with lime.
Pour the hot syrup into bottles and close tightly.
Store in the refrigerator for no more than a year.
