Lychee syrup: a recipe at home

Lychee is a fruit tree of the Sapindov family. We sometimes call it "Chinese plum". The evergreen tree is usually between 10 and 30 meters high. Contains a huge number of flowers, but only 3 to 15 fruits can develop on them.

Syrups are made according to a special recipe. Each manufacturer keeps it in the strictest confidence. However, Wzboltai has found a recipe that you can prepare yourself!

Make lychee syrup

Ingredients

  1. Lychee - 250 g

  2. Sugar - 1 kg

  3. Water - 1 cup

Method of preparation

  1. Peel and stone the lychees.

  2. Mix all the ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes or until the fruit is soft.

  3. Remove from heat, then cover the pan with a lid and leave the mixture for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Strain the fruit pieces and pour the syrup into a sterile jar with a tight lid. The fruit can be used in cooking or for cocktails as a decoration.

  5. Store in the refrigerator.
