Cucumber syrup: 2 recipes at home

Cucumber syrup is often used to make refreshing and tonic cocktails. It has a neutral taste and a pleasant greenish color, which makes the syrup a good base for other fruits whose taste is too sharp.

The classic cucumber syrup recipe

Ingredients

  1. Cucumber - 500 g

  2. Sugar - 500 g

  3. Water - 1 glass

  4. Mint and lemon

The method of preparation

  1. Prepare a base syrup from water and sugar

  2. While it is cooking, wash and dry the cucumbers. The peel can be peeled off, but it is not necessary. The peel gives a brighter green color to the syrup.

  3. Grind the cucumbers in a blender, or grate them.

  4. Squeeze the juice from the lemon, tear the mint leaves with your hands and gently combine all the ingredients with the boiling syrup.

  5. Cucumbers should not be cooked for a long time, 2-3 minutes of boiling is enough.

  6. Strain the syrup through a strainer and pour into a clean, dry bottle.

  7. Store the syrup in the refrigerator, in a tightly closed bottle for 2 weeks.

A simple recipe for cucumber syrup

Ingredients

  1. Large cucumber - 2 pcs.

  2. Sugar - 400 g

  3. Mint - 25 g

  4. Water - 1 liter

The method of preparation

  1. In a saucepan, heat the sugar in 1 liter of water until completely dissolved. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until they become slightly thick.

  2. Transfer the cucumbers and mint leaves to a saucepan and cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  4. Strain the mixture through a sieve into sterilized containers using a watering can. Close tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
