Don Simon wine: history in brief, types and overview of flavors

The Don Simon brand is owned by Garcia Carrion, a company located in Southern Spain that has been producing wines and juices since 1890.

This family business, which was founded by the Garcia-Carrion family, specializes in the production of natural drinks from fruits harvested on its own plantations.

A family business with a century of history

During its existence, the company has managed to win massive recognition among connoisseurs of inexpensive quality wines and "healthy" drinks.

In addition to the products under the Don Simon brand, Garcia Carrion produces elite wines (red, white, rosé) from the best European grape varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and others.

The "Don Simon" range

The popular brand includes three types of drinks.

First, these are simple, unpretentious dry table wines, made from a mixture of wort from different grape varieties (11-12% alcohol), clarified and stabilized, packaged in TetraPak or glass.

This product is not particularly sophisticated and is suitable as an inexpensive everyday wine.

The line includes:

  1. White wine Don Simón (white).

  2. Rosé wine Don Simón (rosé).

  3. Red wine Don Simón (red).

The Sangria fruit wines are now available in two versions:

  1. Don Simón Sangría

Contains red wine, cinnamon and fruit extracts.

The drink is made without the addition of artificial preservatives and sweeteners, packed in boxes of various sizes: from 1 to 20 liters.

  2. Don Simón no alcohol Sangría

Non-alcoholic cocktail containing grape juice, lemongrass and cinnamon extracts. Packaging volume - 1.5 liters.

  3. Flavored carbonated drinks Tinto de Verano

This includes two types of low-alcohol products and two non-alcoholic cocktails without sweeteners.

The "Don Simón Selección" collection deserves a special mention

The line includes 6 elite drinks made from local and imported grape varieties:

It is recommended to chill it well before serving, to be consumed with fish, rice, seafood.

  4. Don Simón Premium Cabernet

    Made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

The color of the wine is bright ruby with a transition to purple.

Consumer reviews

Sangria and red wine are the most popular.

Customer ratings vary: someone praises and recommends trying it, someone categorically refuses, someone adheres to the "golden mean" and remains neutral.

The following characteristics are found among the positive reviews of dry wine: "competitors lose in quality", "slightly sour, slightly bitter", "as an ingredient for cooking or cocktails - a great inexpensive option", "for packaged inexpensive wine - a solid five".

There are also a lot of negative ones: "a very low-grade parody of white table wine", "I have never tasted worse wine", "you can add a little and buy something decent".

"Sangria is rated quite highly: "very pleasant taste", "easy to drink", "not too sweet, nice color", "not tart, tasty", "light and flavorful drink", etc. д.

Despite the presence of negative assessments, it can be argued that Don Simon has taken root and found its consumer.
