Frontera wine: who makes it, types and a brief overview

In Latin America, the Concha y Toro winery (which produces Frontera wine) is one of the largest producers of.

Founded in 1883 as a family business, now owns vineyards located in the central regions of the country.

Briefly about the manufacturer

Varieties for wine production were brought from France in the XIX century. These are traditional for Bordeaux: Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Merlot and Carmenère.

The vines took root on the fertile Chilean soils and began to produce excellent yields.

At first, the drinks were produced for sale within the country, but over time, the scale of production grew, which led to a natural entry into foreign markets.

The Netherlands was the first country to be conquered, and after the introduction of new production technologies, Concha y Toro products appeared in other countries of Europe and Asia.

The company practices classical processing methods in the production of wines:

  1. Manual harvesting of raw materials when they reach a high degree of maturity.

  2. Pressing and distillation on modern equipment.

  3. Aging in oak barrels or neutral containers (the period depends on the category of the beverage).

  4. Corking with natural cork.

  5. Strict control of indicators at all stages of production.
