Tequila Patrón: a guide to alcohol

About the Patrón tequila brand
Tequila Patrón - premium alcohol with the coveted label "made from 100% blue agave juice".
The production of braga is done without the use of modern presses and autoclaves. The distillation itself is carried out using small copper stills that have passed the test of time.
Glass, and sometimes even crystal containers for this tequila are made exclusively by hand.
The history of Patrón tequila
In 1944, in the slums of Los Angeles, a boy named John Paul DeJoria was born. He was born into a dysfunctional Italian-Greek family that broke up when the child was two years old.
After a hungry childhood, a semi-criminal youth and a stint in the US Navy, a young man with a high degree of creativity combined with a very unruly temper began to look for his place in the sun.
He was lucky only at the age of 36, when he and his hairdresser friend created a company that produces hair care products.
Having become a millionaire in a few years, a talented entrepreneur decided to invest in the production of high-quality tequila, which he lacked in his younger years.
As a result, in 1989, Dejoria became the co-founder and controlling shareholder of The Patrón Spirits Company, as well as the owner of an unpretentious brand of Mexican agave distillate called Patrón.
Types of tequila from Patron
It should be noted that the Patrón brand combines several product lines of tequila, and also offers its fans original liqueurs made on the basis of agave distillate.
Patrón Silver

Bottled directly after distillation. Does not have a color.
There is a slight hint of citrus in the smell, and notes of white pepper are guessed in the taste.
It is drunk both in its pure form and in various cocktails.
Recommended for consumption as an aperitif or with Mexican cuisine. Although, if you have a certain breadth of views, this drink will perfectly suit a European or post-Soviet type of feast.
Patrón Reposado

Rests in oak barrels for two months. It has a light golden color. The smell contains oak notes.
The taste is characterized by honey and citrus motifs.
It is consumed in its pure form as an aperitif or during feasts. Added to cocktails at pretentious parties.
Patrón Añejo

One year in oak barrels. It has an aristocratic amber-golden color.
The vanilla theme is clearly discernible in the aroma, enriched with an oak counterpoint.
The taste is a combination of raisin-honey sweetness and light oak bitterness.
There is an original smoky caramel aftertaste. Nose - digestif.
Roca Patrón Silver

Another example of innocently transparent youth. Classic agave aroma enriched with notes of citrus and black pepper.
The same shades associated with a smoky undertone, which are guessed in the taste.
Roca Patrón Reposado

It rests in barrels from the classic bourbon.
Hence, a rich aroma with vanilla, citrus and oak motifs; as well as the presence of ginger-caramel hints in the taste against the background of oak bitterness.
Drink only neat; preferably without snacks, and, of course, without fanaticism.
Roca Patrón Añejo

Amber digestif 14 months of aging. Has a spicy and fruity aroma.
The taste has a spicy combination of ginger caramel and black pepper.
Another important feature is a long velvety aftertaste.
Gran Patrón Platinum

One of the drinks of the extra-class series, as evidenced by the crystal bottles containing it.
Produced by triple distillation.
In between distillations, it is placed in oak containers for some time.
It has a rich aroma with a citrus hint and an equally bright taste with notes of black pepper. It is considered a very refined aperitif.
Gran Patrón Piedra - Tequila Añejo

Has a mahogany color.
It spends three years in French oak barrels and then is bottled in tall crystal vessels.
The multifaceted aroma and rich flavor of the drink contains an unexpected motif of fresh mushrooms.
Gran Patrón Burdeos Añejo Gran Patrón Burdeos Añejo

An elite drink that has a dark amber color and is produced using a unique technology.
The raw agave spirit obtained during the first distillation is sent for a year in a conventional oak container, then it is re-distilled, after which it spends another three years in barrels that once contained Bordeaux.
The result is a kind of alcoholic masterpiece that goes beyond Añejo, with distinct notes of the aforementioned wine in the aroma and vanilla raisins that become sweeter in the taste.
Patrón en Lalique Series 1 Extra Añejo

Collectible perennial tequila, with all the proper attributes: a crystal craft decanter, exquisite packaging made in the form of a carved maple cabinet, an individual certificate and an undemocratic price.
The aroma of the drink harmoniously combines the equivalent themes of agave and oak.
The taste, along with the already familiar shades of vanilla, honey and caramel, has quite unusual nutty notes.
Liqueurs from Patron
In conclusion, it is worth saying a few words about the above-mentioned liqueurs produced by The Patrón Spirits Company on the basis of its own tequila.
In particular, the following drinks are offered to connoisseurs of this alcoholic genre:
Patrón XO Cafe coffee liqueur

Patrón Citrónge orange liqueur

Patrón Lime liqueur

Mango liqueur Patrón Mango

In general, we are ready to agree with the economic philosophy of the billionaire from the slums. Whatever one may say, it is much more pleasant and useful to spend money on high-class alcohol once than to get drunk on cheap alcohol of dubious quality three or four times in a row.
