Old Monk Rum: history, overview of types + interesting facts

The production of Old Monk rum is located in the city of Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh, India). It is made from sugar cane grown in mountainous areas and pure spring water.
Manufacturers do not use flavors and other artificial additives to create the drink.
The history of Old Monk rum
1855: Founding of the company by Eduard Dyer, the owner of the brewery.
1935: Merger of the Eduard plant with another brewer and renaming of the company to Mohan Mekin.
1980: Mohan Meakin changes its name to Mohan Meakin Limited. The company is known by this name today.
1982: Old Monk receives a large number of various cups and medals, it is awarded various titles.
History is silent about when the first bottle of Old Monk was made, but it is known for certain that in the forties of the XX century the drink becomes popular and is widely exported to North America and Scandinavia.

Delicate velvety texture, aroma contains bright caramel and spicy notes, molasses flavor with a predominance of oak and fruit notes.
