All about Hendrix gin

Briefly about the drink
Hendrick's Gin is one of the youngest and most extravagant drinks of its class.
It appeared in 1999 at one of the enterprises belonging to the famous Scottish company William Grant and Sons (the same one that once significantly enriched the world of whiskey, creating the incomparable Glenfiddich).
By the way, most British gin brands are produced in Scotland today. This is due to the high quality of local water, which is favorably distinguished by its flavor, natural softness and environmental friendliness.
Hendricks' specialty
As for the extravagance of Hendricks, it is due to the addition of a truly revolutionary combination of Bulgarian rose petal oil essence and fresh Belgian cucumber puree to the drink.
As for the rest of the composition of this work of the descendants of Grant's whiskey distiller, in addition to traditional juniper berries and violet root, it includes the following ingredients: cumin and coriander seeds, elderberry and chamomile blossom, bellflower, cubeba berries, piper root, as well as orange and lemon peel...
History of Hendricks Gin

It all started when in 1966, William Grant's great-grandson, Charles Gordon, bought two rare stills for a special occasion: a rather rare 1948 Carter still and an old Bennett Brothers still made in 1860.
For 33 long years, the distillery's employees have been returning to the question of the practical use of this purchase from time to time. The work carried out in this direction has become a constant, purposeful character since 1988. It was then that Leslie Gracie was invited to the company, whose botanical experiments were characterized by extraordinary courage and freedom from conventional stereotypes.
As a result, after 11 years of hard work and numerous botanical studies, a gin appeared that impressed both venerable experts in the field of distilling and ordinary lovers of the juniper drink with its unusualness.
Hendrix gin production technology

Hendrick's - is a blend that is created from two spirits distilled with the same set of ingredients, but in different proportions and using different distillers. At the same time, to achieve the optimal effect, the total volume of fire liquid used for one batch of the drink does not exceed 450 liters.
The first of the substances is first infused with vegetable components for a day, after which, roughly speaking, it is cooked in the Bennett brothers' distillation cube. As a result, ordinary grain alcohol turns into a multifaceted vegetable distillate of deep saturation.
The second is obtained by steaming with distilled alcohol the same set of plants placed in a special basket. This is done in a Carter apparatus specially adapted for such manipulations. As a result, the alcohol passed through the basket acquires soft floral and citrus notes.
Later, both alcohols are mixed, enriched with rose and cucumber extracts, and then diluted with water to a certain strength.
The strength of drinks intended for intra-British use is 41.4 degrees.
The export version reaches 44 proof.
How to drink Hendricks gin

The producers of this unusual drink strongly recommend using it in numerous cocktails.
We are talking not only about aperitifs or stunning mixtures intended for reckless parties, but also about invigorating morning openers, enchanting punch bowls and soothing decoctions that are drunk for a good night's sleep - and about unique drinks.
Among such cocktails there are variations on the classic Martini, Negroni and, of course, Gin and Tonic, as well as unique drinks specially invented by Hendrix brand ambassadors from around the world.
In addition, the aforementioned pink-cucumber gin can serve as an excellent aperitif in its pure form. At the same time, we advise you to do without any snacks. In our opinion, Hendrick's gin deserves to feel its unique taste without distorting it with lemon or olives.
