Briefly about the drink

Faxe - a beer that appeared on an island in the eastern part of Denmark. It has a centuries-old recipe tradition of brewing. It is especially popular in the Baltic regions, ranking second after the products of the Tuborg concern.

The history of Faxe beer

1901: The company was created by the Nielsen spouses, who managed it on an equal footing. It appeared in the city of Faxe, on the island of Zealand. Original name: Fakse Dampbryggeri.

1914: The name was changed to Faxe Bryggeri. The owner died and the widow took over the management.

1920: The brewery successfully developed, export of alcohol and soft drinks to the territory of native Zealand, Lollan, Falster (Danish islands) and cities near Copenhagen was established.

1930: Things were going uphill, sales were growing. But for the same reasons, water became scarce. An 80-meter well was drilled. Water reserves filtered by limestone rocks were found. This water became the main ingredient in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic products. Lager and strong beer become popular with the company.

1980: Exports to the Swedish and German markets were launched. The advertising slogan was "Der grosse Däne" (The Great Dane). The beer is known under this name to this day.

Faxe

1989: Faxe Bryggeri merged with Jyske Bryggerier to form the second largest Danish brewery in the country. Now, as then, it is called Royal Unibrew. Deliveries have reached Kenya in Africa.

2020: The breweries are now located outside Scandinavia, in Russia and Poland. The brand belongs to CJSC Moscow Brewing Company. Taste qualities are slightly different. Danish beer is recognized as more delicate and with less noticeable bitterness.
