The history of Tuborg beer
The merit of founding the first brewery in Copenhagen belongs to a group of Danish entrepreneurs, the most active of whom was Philip Wolfe Heymann.
In 1873, the business partners purchased a plot of land on the Thuesborg estate, a slightly modified name that gave the new drink its name.
The first bottle of Tuborg was produced at the company built from scratch in 1880, and it immediately attracted attention. Before that, the Danes were familiar only with dark draft beer.
The drink was to the taste of local alcohol lovers, and by the beginning of the XX century, the Tuborg brand had become no less popular than another giant of Danish brewing, Carlsberg.
In 1903, representatives of the companies were forced to sign an agreement on the distribution of income and supplies, in other words, to divide the market in half.

In 1970, the producers merged under the banner of United Breweries, which was later renamed Carlsberg A/S.
The fate of Tuborg beer was determined by its proximity to the harbor: having conquered the local market, the manufacturer began to actively promote its products for export. The most successful in this regard were the post-war years.
In 1981, the company organized the production of its beverages in Hungary.
The Soviet market was also mastered: the supply of Tuborg beer to the USSR began in the 60s, and by the 80s the product had become one of the most popular imported brands.
Since 2000, the Danish pilsner has been brewed under license in St. Petersburg at the Vienna brewery. Today, the brand's drinks are produced in more than two dozen countries and sold in at least a hundred.
Types of Tuborg beer
Tuborg Green
The most famous drink of the brand. Classic lager with 4.6% alcohol content, brewed from light barley malt.
The aroma contains corn, grain, fruit and malt notes.
The taste is mild, with an apple aroma and light sourness.
It has been produced since 1880.

Tuborg Christmas Brew
Semi-dark lager brewed according to a unique recipe from three types of malt: barley, burnt and caramel.
Minimum strength: 5,6%.
Has a rich taste and aroma of caramel.
Sold in blue glass bottles and tins on New Year's Eve and for several weeks after the holiday.

Tuborg Non-Alcoholic
Non-alcoholic beer produced using dialysis technology.
Strength: up to 0.5% alcohol

How to drink Tuborg beer
It is recommended to cool Tuborg light lagers to 4-8 °C before drinking.
As an appetizer, it is well suited to shellfish, salted fish, poultry dishes.

Interesting facts about Tuborg beer
A unique ingredient of Danish beverages is special brewer's yeast, which gives the products a characteristic rich flavor. Tuborg brewers keep the secret of this ingredient a secret, as well as the recipe for a unique strong, long-lasting foam.
Each bottle of Danish beer bears the inscription "Stilstand er tilbagegang", which in a loose translation means "To stand still is to move in the opposite direction". The authorship belongs to the company's founder, who liked to repeat this phrase, meaning that one should never rest on one's laurels. Later, the phrase became the company's motto, was cast in metal and placed at the entrance to the brewery.
The convenient disposable ring cap, which is now used on all Tuborg bottles, was developed by the company's specialists specifically for Tuborg Green, which was launched on the Russian market in 2004.
In 1931, the Tuborg Foundation was established to support the initiatives of volunteers seeking to stimulate positive changes in society. The organization is still working to this day, helping dreamers achieve success.
On the eve of the New Year, a special "festive beer" - Tuborg Christmas Brew, made according to a unique recipe - is on sale. The drink is available only for a few winter weeks.
A monument to beer erected in Copenhagen more than 100 years ago in the form of a giant Tuborg bottle that can hold the contents of 1.5 million ordinary beer containers. There is a special hydraulic elevator inside, where you can admire the best panoramas of the Danish capital.
"Tuborg Green pays special attention to supporting various musical events. In addition to its own festival, the brand sponsors the famous Roskilde, Download Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Escape in the Park.
In 2018, Tuborg presented its own stage at PRESENT PERFECT and STEREOLETO in St. Petersburg, and also supported the Moscow Bosco Fresh Fest.
