Mild tincture on mountain ash

The specified amount of ingredients will make about ten liters of aromatic drink.

Ingredients

  1. Red mountain ash - 6 kg

  2. Food alcohol (45-50%) - 6-8 liters

  3. Granulated sugar - 500 g

The method of preparation

  1. Put the rowan, cleaned from the ridges, washed and slightly dried, in layers in a glass bottle of a suitable size, alternating with sugar.

  2. Now pour the prepared alcohol base, it should completely cover the berries. Leave for a month in a dark place at room temperature.

  3. During the first week, periodically add alcohol so that the berries are constantly under an "alcohol blanket".

  4. A month later, pour the tincture into a clean container and pour the second portion of alcohol. Insist under the same conditions for another 1.5 months.

  5. Then mix the second infusion with the first and filter it.

  6. Bottle and leave in a cool place for at least 2-3 weeks to stabilize the taste.

  7. The longer the rowan drink stands, the richer its taste and aroma will become.

Fragrant rowan on cognac

Ingredients

  1. Rowan - 250 g

  2. Cognac - 500 ml

  3. Honey - 1.5 tbsp.

  4. Oak bark - 1 tbsp.

The method of preparation

  1. Sort the rowan, remove spoiled berries, combs and other debris. Then wash it and dry it a little with paper towels.

  2. Pour the prepared fruits into a glass container, pour in the cognac, add honey and oak bark.

  3. Mix thoroughly until the honey is completely dissolved and leave for 1-3 months in a dark, cool place.

  4. Pour off the finished infusion and leave it for a few more months, until it is completely clarified.

  5. Before tasting, filter the drink and bottle it.

Classic rowan tincture

Ingredients

  1. Red mountain ash berries - 1 kg

  2. Vodka - 1-1.5 liters

  3. Sugar - 250 g

The method of preparation

  1. Rowan is processed in the same way as in the in previous recipes.

  2. Pour the prepared fruits into a glass container and pour the alcoholic component. Leave for three weeks in a dark and cool room.

  3. If desired, you can sweeten the drink a little at this stage.

  4. Strain the finished rowan tincture and bottle it.

  5. It is advisable to keep the drink for a few more weeks before tasting.

Tincture of red mountain ash and oak bast

Ingredients

  1. Rowan - 1 glass

  2. Honey - 1 tbsp.

  3. Oak bast - 1 tbsp.

  4. Vodka - 500 ml

The method of preparation

Place a glass of selected berries picked after the first frost in a bottle, pour vodka, add honey and pieces of oak bast (this is the part of the bark adjacent to the wood; to get it, just cut and peel one branch). Seal the bottle and leave for several months.

Tincture of red mountain ash and apples

Ingredients

  1. Red mountain ash - 500 g

  2. Fragrant ripe apples - 1 kg

  3. Sugar - 300 g

  4. Vodka - 1.5 liters

The method of preparation

  1. Rinse the mountain ash thoroughly, put it in a colander, let it drain and separate the berries from the stems.

  2. Wash, dry, core and cut the apples into rings.

  3. Put the apples and rowan in layers in a large jar, sprinkle each layer with sugar, then pour vodka so that the fruit is completely covered.

  4. Tie the neck of the jar with cheesecloth and leave to stand at room temperature for 2-3 months until the berries are discolored.

  5. After that, filter the tincture, bottle it and store it in a dark and cool place.

Alternative recipe for red mountain ash tincture

Ingredients

  1. Water - 1 liter of water

  2. Vodka - 500 ml of vodka

  3. Red mountain ash - 2 dense clusters

  4. Sugar - 30 g

  5. A pinch of citric acid

The method of preparation

  1. Remove the rowan from the branches, sort and rinse. Let the water drain.

  2. Boil water, add berries and let it boil.

  3. Immediately remove from heat and put in a colander.

  4. Put in a jar, cover with sugar and citric acid, mix.

  5. Pour vodka, close the jar, leave for 5 days.

  6. Then drain the tincture, strain it, and store it in tightly sealed bottles in a cool, dark place.
