Classic watermelon liqueur
In this recipe, we will need watermelon juice, it will not be difficult to squeeze it out.
To begin with, cut the watermelon, cut off the rind and remove the seeds. Then cut the pulp into small pieces and pass it through a juicer or squeeze out the juice with cheesecloth.
Ingredients
Watermelon juice - 600 ml
Sugar - 150 g
Vodka - 400 ml
Vanilla sugar - 20 g
Method of preparation
First, we need to evaporate the watermelon juice to make it more concentrated. To do this, mix the juice with granulated sugar in a saucepan and cook the syrup over low heat for 15 minutes (without boiling and stirring constantly).
Now pour alcohol into a glass container, add vanilla sugar and finally cooled watermelon syrup.
Mix thoroughly and put the container in a cool place (basement or refrigerator) for 10-15 days to stabilize the taste. Be sure to shake the liquor daily.
After infusion, the drink must be filtered and poured into a glass bottle.
It is recommended to drink the finished watermelon liqueur chilled. Store for no more than 4 years in the refrigerator or cellar.
Flavored watermelon liqueur with cactus juice
You can buy cactus juice in a supermarket, online store, or make it yourself from the fruits of prickly pear.
It is important to keep in mind that this is a rather difficult process, but if you could not find this secret ingredient, you can do without it.
Ingredients
Ripe large watermelon - about 7-8 kg
Cactus juice - 2 liters
Granulated sugar - 750-1,250 kg (the amount depends on the sweetness of the watermelon)
Lemon - 4 pcs.
Food alcohol (70 degrees) - 2 liters
Method of preparation
Squeeze the juice out of the watermelon.
In a saucepan, mix three types of juice (watermelon, lemon and cactus) and add 750 g of granulated sugar, if the liquid is not sweet enough, then increase the amount.
Repeat step 1 from the first recipe.
Then mix the alcoholic base and the cooled syrup in a container of a suitable volume. Stir and let stand for about 3 weeks in a dark and cool place. In case of precipitation, the liquor must be shaken.
After infusing, filter the finished drink and bottle it.
Steeping is welcome.
Watermelon liqueur with cognac
For lack of cognac, you can use any other strong alcohol: odorless moonshine, vodka, rum, brandy or whiskey.
Ingredients
Ripe watermelon pulp - 2 kg
Cognac - 1 liter
Granulated sugar - 350 g
Method of preparation
Cut the prepared pulp into cubes, put it in a glass container, pour cognac and leave it in a dark and warm place for 10 days.
Then pour the infusion into another container, and cover the pulp with granulated sugar and leave it in a sunny place for a week.
After the watermelon syrup is formed, it must be drained and mixed with the tincture. Pour in the syrup in small portions and taste so as not to over-sweeten the drink.
After filtering, bottle the liquor and keep it in a cool place for at least a month before tasting.
Spicy watermelon liqueur
Ingredients
Ripe watermelon pulp - 500 g
Hot jalapeno pepper - 1 medium-sized pod
Food alcohol (60 degrees) - 350 ml
Sugar syrup - 250-350 ml
Cooking method
Cut the peppers into rings, put them in a glass container with the seeds and pour the alcohol base. After a day it is necessary to take a sample. If the tincture is spicy, then extract all the pepper, and if not, then extend the infusion time by another 12 hours.
Then add the chopped watermelon pulp to the burning tincture and let it brew in a dark place for about 1 week.
After the specified time, the drink must be filtered and added to taste sugar syrup.
Now pour the spicy watermelon liqueur into a bottle and keep it in a cool place for another 2-3 weeks. And you can start tasting.
Since it is winter outside and the watermelon season will not begin soon, you can taste this drink by buying a bottle at the nearest supermarket. And then compare it with the homemade version, which you will definitely like much more.
