Gold Strike liqueur: review, history, how to drink

Gold Strike - this is a cinnamon liqueur that has a record strength for liqueurs - 50 degrees!

But this is not the main trump card of the drink, the highlight is hidden at the bottom of the bottle in the form of small flakes of real gold of 24 carats, although experts say that in some batches these gold particles do not exceed 22-23.5 carats.

Brief history and features of Gold Strike liqueur

There are legends about this "precious" drink, and one of them says that gold fragments, getting into the body, make small cuts in the throat and stomach, and then alcohol directly enters the bloodstream and intoxication occurs faster. But this is just a legend. Although, who knows?

The history of the Lucas Bols company began in 1575, when the Bols family moved to Amsterdam and founded a small winery there, which was originally called "Het Lootsje"

The founders were not afraid to experiment, they mixed various herbs, spices, fruits and roots. And in 1652, the Lucas Bols liqueur of the same name was born, which made the company famous all over the world.

But the Bols family did not stop there and developed new original recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. Still kept in strictest confidence to this day.

Gold Strike liqueur is no exception, it is also produced according to an old recipe. It is only known that it is prepared on the basis of schnapps and natural cinnamon, and complements the bouquet of aromas and flavors of forest herbs, nuts, orange peel brought from the island of Curacao, and roots.

How to drink Gold Strike

Despite its strength, Gold Strike is very easy to drink, and the manufacturer recommends doing so under the motto "Shake, Shoot and Strike": "Shake, Shoot and Strike".

The alcohol we are considering is usually served as a digestif, and it tastes best in its pure form with a small ice cube.

It can also be used to make various cocktails. Cinnamon liqueur goes especially well with lemon and apple juice, red Tabasco sauce, green mint liqueur and the famous American liqueur Southern Comfort.
