Absinthe La Clandestine Suisse La Bleue: a guide to alcohol

Overview of absinthe
Swiss absinthe of transparent color with an alcohol content of 53% by volume. The taste reveals a balanced bouquet of wormwood, anise, floral and honey tones. Noticeable bitterness continues in the aftertaste. The aroma is dominated by tones of fennel, wormwood, anise and dill. In undiluted form, the drink is crystal clear, after adding water it becomes milky cloudy.
Due to the fact that the manufacturer does not indicate the thujone content in its absinthe, Vzboltai cannot recommend it for consumption according to classical methods, but it is definitely suitable for absinthe cocktails, but given the price of this absinthe, the idea seems unreasonable.
About the producer
Artisanal (craft) distillery Artemisia Bugnon is located in the municipality of Couvet, in the Val de Traverse region. It specializes in the production of absinthe according to recipes dating back to 1935. The owners of the distillery, Claude-Alain and Karine Bunion, are proud of their tradition and emphasize that the company does not conduct market research, does not follow fashion trends and market requirements. On the territory of the plant, only passion for absinthe and respect for time-tested technologies are important.
Herbs for the production of Artemisia Bugnon absinthe are collected on site, in the ecologically clean Swiss mountains. They grow exceptionally aromatic varieties of wormwood, hyssop and lemon balm. It was thanks to these herbs that the absinthe of the Val de Traverse region was famous in the century before last. The first absinthe from Artemisia Bunyon after the ban on its production was lifted in 2005 was La Clandestine, followed by La Capricieuse. Both varieties have been repeatedly awarded at Swiss and international competitions.
The company exports about 40% of its products to the EU, Japan and the USA. Artemisia Bouillon successfully competes with about 250 types of absinthe from other European producers. Connoisseurs of this historic drink prefer Artemisia Bugnon products due to its authentic recipe and handmade production. The drink is distilled by "direct fire", with vapors passing through the thickness of aromatic plants. Each batch is bottled separately, without mixing, and passes through the constant control of the owners of the plant. This technology, according to the manufacturer, makes the absinthe "La Clandestine" and "La Capricieuse" among the best in the Val de Traverse.
