It is believed that balsam is a medicine, but in the history of alcohol, it so happened that most drinks were originally invented and used as a medicine. But somehow it didn't work out with balsams, and therefore an advanced alcohol consumer will first remember only "Riga Balsam".

Anyway, in this selection, Vzboltai offers you to try your hand at making an alcoholic balm, and it's up to you to use it as a medicine or alcohol.

Balsam "homemade"

Ingredients

  1. Honey - 50 g

  2. Propolis - 10 g

  3. Dried prunes - 50 g

  4. Rose hips - 25 g

  5. St. John's wort, linden blossom, wormwood, mint, pine buds and bisque root - 1/2 tsp each. л. л.

  6. Vanilla sugar - 1 tsp.

  7. Cloves, coriander - on the tip of a knife

  8. Vodka - 7 liters

The method of preparation

  1. Pit and chop the prunes finely.

  2. Grind rose hips, herbs and spices, combine with prunes and pour vodka so that the raw materials are covered with it.

  3. Seal the dishes tightly and put them in a warm place for 1 month to get a rich herbal extract.

  4. Add honey, propolis, vanilla sugar to the remaining vodka and leave for 1 month.

  5. Then strain the herbal tincture through cheesecloth in 4-5 layers, and put the remaining herbs in a saucepan, pour 1/2 cup of water, bring to a boil, let it stand and pour through a strainer with cheesecloth into a bottle with the second tincture...

  6. Pour in the herbal infusion. Seal the bottle well and put it in a cool place for 1-2 months, then strain, filter and bottle.

Christmas balsamic

Ingredients

  1. Honey - 50 g of honey

  2. Chamomile, dried apples - 1 hour each. л. л.

  3. Thyme, lemon zest and juniper berries - 1 tbsp each. л. л.

  4. Vodka - 1 liter

Method of preparation

  1. In the middle of summer, fill a bottle with 500 ml of vodka and add a mixture of herbs, zest and juniper berries.

  2. Close tightly and leave in a warm place for 2 months.

  3. Then mix honey, herbal infusion and the remaining vodka in a larger bottle. Insist the balsam for several months. Open the balsam for Christmas, filter and bottle.

Ingredients for the infusion

10 g each of chamomile, lavender flowers, lovage leaves, marjoram, curly mint, wormwood, rosemary, thyme, hyssop, wild rowan leaves, yarrow herb, angelica roots, valerian roots, juniper berries, 1.2 liters of 70% wine alcohol.

Ingredients for the essence

1 g of yarrow oil, 30 g of bay oil, 30 g of marshmallow oil, 30 g of thyme oil, 30 g of juniper oil, 15 g of peppermint oil, 15 g of curly mint oil, 15 g of English pepper oil, 15 g angelica oil, 15 g valerian oil, 15 g lepidus oil, 25 g marjoram oil, 38 g walnut oil, 8 g cumin oil, 8 g sage oil, 420 ml 90% wine alcohol

The method of preparation
  1. This balm is prepared in 2 stages. First, you need to prepare an alcoholic infusion of herbs and roots: mix all the ingredients, leave for 8 days, and then strain through cheesecloth in 4-5 layers. Squeeze the rest of the herb through cheesecloth and mix with the main infusion.

  2. Filter the herbal infusion through paper and color with burnt sugar. At the same time, you need to prepare the essence: dissolve the oils in alcohol and infuse them with.

  3. To prepare the Riga Balm, you need to take 30 ml of this essence per 10 liters of herbal infusion. Then the balsam can be tinted yellow with saffron tincture or black with sabur infusion and burnt sugar.

Spicy balm with prunes

Ingredients

  1. Vodka - 1 liter

  2. honey and dried prunes - 50 g each

  3. Dry rose hips - 25 g

  4. Propolis - 10 g

  5. Vanilla sugar - 5 g

  6. A pinch of chopped St. John's wort, wormwood, mint, pine buds, finely chopped bisque root, linden blossom, cloves, coriander.

Method of preparation

  1. Rinse the dried prunes with warm water, let them dry, and remove the seeds.

  2. Finely chop the fruit pulp. Put the rose hips together with herbs and spices in a coffee grinder, grind finely (or grind well in any other way) and mix with prunes.

  3. Pour the mixture with 250 ml of vodka, pour into a tightly closed container, put in a warm, dark place for 30 days.

  4. Dissolve honey, vanilla sugar in the remaining 750 ml of vodka, add propolis and leave for 30 days.

  5. Then strain the herbal tincture well through cheesecloth, pour 100 ml of water over the pulp and let it boil.

  6. Set the pulp aside until it cools completely, then also strain and add the liquid to the strained herbal tincture.

  7. Mix with the rest of the (sweet) tincture. Seal the bottle thoroughly, keep it in a cool place for 30-60 days before use.

Blackcurrant balm with currant leaves

Ingredients

  1. Vodka - 700 ml

  2. Water - 1.3 liters

  3. Fresh leaves of cherries, black currants and raspberries - 100 pcs.

  4. Black currant berries - 300-350 g (weight affects the richness of the flavor)

  5. Sugar - 600 g

The method of preparation

  1. Rinse freshly picked raspberry, currant and cherry leaves, let them dry and put them in a large container.

  2. Add water, clean dried berries and bring to a boil. Boil over low heat for no more than 15 minutes, remove from heat, cool to a warm state.

  3. Strain, squeeze the pulp thoroughly. Add sugar to the broth, stir until completely dissolved.

  4. Cool completely, pour in vodka, stir, pour the balsam into a bottle with a tightly closing cork. Insist for 3 days in a dark place before use.

Christmas juniper balm

Ingredients

  1. 1 liter of vodka

  2. 10 juniper berries, avoid the Cossack juniper variety, it is poisonous

  3. 50 g of honey

  4. 10 g of thyme herb

  5. Chopped flowers of chamomile, mistletoe, sage - 5 g each

  6. Finely chopped burdock root, lemon peel and dried apples - 1 tsp each. л. л.

Method of preparation

  1. Grind the herbs in a coffee grinder (or in another way) together with burdock root, lemon peel and apples.

  2. Add the juniper berries, pour the mixture into a bottle, pour 500 ml of vodka and seal well.

  3. Insist in a warm place for about 60 days, then strain thoroughly.

  4. Dissolve honey in the remaining vodka and mix with herbal tincture.

  5. Pour 100 ml of water over the herbal pulp, boil, cool and strain. Add the liquid to a bottle of balm, stir, leave for at least 90 days.

Red root balm

It is recommended as a general tonic and stimulant, in case of genitourinary diseases, anemia.

Ingredients
  1. Vodka - 900 ml

  2. Dry rhizomes of red root - 50 g

Method of preparation

  1. Grind the rhizomes, place in a jar with 450 ml of vodka and close tightly.

  2. Let stand for 10 days in a dark place at room temperature.

  3. Then drain the tincture, pour the rhizomes with the rest of the vodka, also under a lid in a dark place for 15-20 days.

  4. No need to mix both balms, store in the same conditions.

How to use: from 0.5 to 1 tsp. 2-3 times a day 30 minutes before meals, dissolving in 200 ml of warm herbal or green tea, the last dose - 3 hours before bedtime. Course - 30-90 days, take a break for 30 days, repeat the course.

Spicy walnut balm

Strong balm for stress and fatigue relief.

Ingredients

Vodka, walnut hulls, 30 g of honey, 5 g each of dried St. John's wort, mint, rose hips and dried raspberries, 1 g of ground ginger, 3-4 cloves.

The method of preparation

  1. Put the walnut shells tightly in a 250 ml container and pour vodka over the top.

  2. Put spices, fruits and herbs in another similar container, pour honey first, then also vodka to the top.

  3. Close both containers tightly, place in a dark place and leave for 4 days.

  4. Drain the tinctures well from each container, combine and leave in a dark place for another 4 days. Pour the remaining herbs and spices in the containers with vodka again and leave for 4 days under a lid in a dark place.

  5. Decant the tinctures again and mix with the first infusion. Filter. Directions for use: 30 g before bedtime.

Sea buckthorn herbal balm

Recommended as a pain reliever.

Ingredients
  1. Vodka, sea buckthorn syrup, 4 parts each of chamomile flowers, peppermint herb and sea buckthorn fruit.

  2. Three parts of calendula flowers.

  3. 2 parts each of valerian officinalis roots, black currant leaves and five-lobed motherwort

  4. 1 part each of seeds and flowers of autumn late bloomer, wild strawberry leaves, pine needles, lemon balm, black poplar buds and celandine herb.

Method of preparation

  1. Grind herbs, fruits, pine needles, buds and roots, mix thoroughly, measure the amount.

  2. Put in a jar and for every 3 tbsp. л. pour 1 liter of vodka into the collection.

  3. Let it steep under a lid in a dark place for 20-22 days, drain well and combine with sea buckthorn syrup. Directions for use: 20-30 drops 2-3 times a day.

Rosehip herbal balm

Recommended as an analgesic and general tonic.

Ingredients
  1. Vodka, rosehip syrup, 5 parts of chamomile flowers.

  2. Four parts of the five-lobed dog nettle.

  3. 3 parts each of valerian officinalis roots, rose hips and wild currant leaves

  4. 2 parts each of calendula flowers, peppermint herb, pine buds and lemon balm

  5. 1 part each of black poplar buds, celandine herb and blood-red hawthorn fruits.

The method of preparation

  1. Mix herbs, fruits, leaves, buds and flowers (grind them if possible), measure the amount.

  2. Put the collection in a container and for every 1 tbsp. pour 1 liter of vodka into the raw materials.

  3. Mix well, close the lid, put in a dark place for 30 days.

  4. Drain the finished balm, strain the raw materials, carefully filter the resulting liquid and combine it with the balm. Add rosehip syrup, mix well.

  5. Store in tightly closed bottles in a dark place. Directions for use: 30 drops 3 times a day.

Therapeutic garlic balm

It is recommended in case of colds, for toning, as an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent.

Ingredients
  1. Vodka - 200 ml of vodka

  2. 20% tincture of propolis - 30 ml

  3. Peeled garlic - 100 g

  4. Honey - 50 g

Method of preparation

  1. Pass the peeled garlic cloves through a meat grinder twice.

  2. Put the garlic mass in a jar, mix with honey and propolis tincture.

  3. Pour vodka, close the jar with a lid and let it stand in a dark place for 10 days.

  4. Drain the finished balsam well, pour into a dark bottle and tightly seal.

How to use: for 1 tsp. 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.
