Absinthe King of Spirits: an overview of the taste and types

About the drink
King of Spirits - is an absinthe from the Czech manufacturer L’or special drinks. A real legend in the world of absinthe because of its taste and effect. It is usually expensive and difficult to buy.
History of King of Spirits
The company was founded in June 1994 by two entrepreneurs Pavel Varga and Jiri Černý, who decided to start producing the best spirits in the Czech Republic.
They came up with this idea after an unsuccessful attempt to run their own shop: the men sold high-quality imported alcohol, which was pushed out of the market by cheap fakes.
Initially, the partners argued for a long time about which beverage to prefer during production. Eventually, it was decided that the company would produce rum, vodka, and absinthe.
The first absinthe produced at the L’or special drinks is King of Spirits. It is based on the classic recipe of the late XVIII century, which was loved by the nobles of those times.
The thujone content in the drink meets the standards of those years: in one of the King of Spirits varieties, it is almost the same as in old tinctures: 100 mg per 1 liter of drink. You will definitely not find absinthe with such a thujone content today.
Types of absinthe King of Spirits
Company L’or special drinks produces two types of absinthe King of Spirits. Both of them have a strength of 70%.
King of Spirits Original

The taste is delicate, full of tones of meadow and forest herbs, shades of roots and leaves, among which are especially catchy touches of anise, pine needles and bitter wormwood.
The aromatic bouquet of the drink combines various motifs: wormwood, anise, fennel, liquorice, chamomile and fresh mint, which dominate the light alcohol flavor.
King of Spirits Gold

Herbal absinthe. Thujone content: 10 mg per 1 liter of alcohol.
Simultaneous astringency and sharpness of taste will not leave anyone indifferent.
It combines notes of anise, fennel, bitter wormwood, licorice, fragrant lemon balm, refreshing mint, parsley, pine needles, and chamomile.
The herbal flavor is dominated by nuances of anise and wormwood.
King of Spirits absinthe is usually consumed in combination with water and sugar, which helps to get rid of excess bitterness and helps to maximize the disclosure of herbal flavor.
Water, in turn, reduces the strength of absinthe to about 20%, making it easier to drink.
