Black & White whiskey: history and review of the drink

Scotch scotch "Black & White" is characterized by a mild honey-citrus flavor, affordable price and pale golden color.
Belongs to a rare category of alcohol that is liked by almost everyone. Many real and fictional celebrities have visited the drink: physicist Richard Feynman, the great "storyteller" Walt Disney, the unsurpassed James Bond and Scott Fitzgerald's heroes highly appreciated whiskey.
The history of Black & White
Today, Black & White scotch is so popular that it is recognized by the two cute dogs on the label. But at the dawn of its existence, the drink was so inconspicuously decorated that it was practically lost in the window. It did not stand out for its bright taste, and what can I say - it was even called differently.
The creator of the simple whiskey "House of Commons", which became the prototype of the modern "Black & White", was a Canadian James Buchanan. For a long time he grew grain on family plantations, until in 1884 he decided to move to London. Since then, the farmer's life has changed dramatically: he became a whiskey sales agent, and soon began his first experiments in creating his own blended scotch. This is how the light, smooth, unpretentious "The Buchanan Blend" was born, designed for the English taste.
The thoughtful combination of Dalwhinnie, Glendullan and Clynelish malt was loved not only by pub patrons, but also by members of the House of Commons, which is why the blend was soon renamed House of Commons.

Due to the unusual design - the drink was bottled in dark bottles with a bright light label - people began to call it "the very black and white whiskey". James Bukinen had no choice but to rename the blend again.
In 1902, the scotch received its third and last name, which has survived to this day - "Black & White". By this time, the product was already being actively exported, and even the Emperor of Japan was among its fans.
Until 1910, "Black & White" was considered the most popular whiskey in England, and Dalwhinnie spirits began to dominate the blend. Around the same time, 2 terriers appeared in the brand's advertising: black and white. According to legend, the idea to make them symbols of the drink came to James Buchanan while visiting a dog show. The inseparable couple moved to the label much later - almost a hundred years later.

Consumers also remembered the unusual delivery of scotch: until the middle of the XX century, it was delivered to London establishments in stagecoaches driven by coachmen in black and white uniforms, with a two-tone blanket on the horses.
Today the brand is owned by Diageo. Whisky is in high demand not only in Europe, but also in South Africa, India, and Latin America.
Black & White review
A distinctive feature of Black & White scotch is its pale yellow color, which is lighter than traditional whiskey.
The composition is dominated by grain alcohols (about 60%). Malt components are produced mainly at the Dalwhinnie distillery, the highest distillery in Scotland. It is located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level.
The delicate taste of the whiskey contains grassy, honey, peat notes, complemented by light sweetness and a clean citrus trail.
The secret of exceptional softness lies in a mountain water source.
Standard strength: 40%.
The drink is good neat, on the rocks, in popular cocktails, in combination with desserts, coffee, and fruit.
