Don Ramon wine: history in brief and a drink review
Originating from the Campo de Borja wine region, Spain, the wine offers its tasters a refined taste and moderate strength. And the unique design of the bottles reminds of the glorious history of Spanish winemaking.
"Don" from Aragon
Don Ramon dry red wine comes from the autonomous region of Aragon. For many years, the products of local winemakers were considered artisanal and "devoid of any sophistication". But with the advent of modern technology, the situation has changed dramatically and now Aragonese wines have become worthy competitors to Italian and French brands.
The basis of Don Ramon wine is Garnacha grapes. It is he who gives it its signature color of dark ruby. And to smooth out the natural strength of this variety, it is diluted with Tempranillo grapes. This heir to the Pinot Noir variety significantly enriches the taste of the drink, giving it aristocratic sophistication.
The wine belongs to young varieties - the barrel aging period is only 3 months. Upon completion, the wine is bottled in dark glass bottles and sealed with sealing wax. This move is another tribute to the traditions of Spanish winemaking. Not to mention the fact that the sealed bottle looks great!
Wine review by Don Ramon
The main feature of the wine is its bright and berry flavor. Wild berries are combined with dried cherries, plums and apples. And all this is imbued with a delicate taste of spices. The aftertaste is short, of medium intensity.
In general, the taste of the wine is quite balanced, although some tasters note its increased acidity. Fortunately, this problem is solved by enhanced cooling of the drink.
The aroma of the drink deserves special attention. In addition to the berry background, there are notes of mint, spices and fruit jam.
The drink is best served with cheese slices or fresh fruit. Don Ramon also goes well with meat dishes, especially kebabs, grilled and spicy roasts. Spaghetti, especially with Bolognese meat sauce, will be another interesting companion to this wine.
