An overview of five brands of golden rum
Golden rum - is one of the varieties of the well-known distillate made from sugar cane. Its distinctive feature is a characteristic yellowish-brown color, which is achieved by aging the drink in oak barrels without further filtration.
The aging period of the youngest spirits that make up this type of alcohol usually ranges from one and a half to three years.

Bacardi gold rum
Bacardi Gold Rum (or Bacardi Carta Oro) is a popular highly refined blend made in the distilleries of the famous supergiant of the alcohol industry Bacardi.
The spirits in its composition are aged in specially charred barrels made exclusively of white American oak.
The youngest spirits are up to two years old, and the oldest ones can boast of six years of aging.
This amber 40-degree drink has a very complex harmonious flavor bouquet, which includes nutty, vanilla and oak notes, set off by the taste of plum and apricot. The charm of this Bacardi creation is successfully complemented by a complex aroma containing vanilla, molasses and oak hints.
Golden rum of Captain Morgan
A spicy rum elixir is known by this name in the post-Soviet space: Captain Morgan Spiced Gold, owned by another alcohol supergiant, the English Diagio Corporation.
This pleasant spicy drink, whose color resembles the luster of old doubloons, and whose strength varies between 35 and 37.5 degrees, is made on the basis of two-year-old rum, which is aged in oak bourbon barrels.
Captain's rum gold is not devoid of sophistication, having a unique taste and peculiar flavor.
In the first, in addition to warm notes of tropical spices, one can easily guess the flavor of dried fruits, chocolate and brown sugar, as well as a light oak echo.
The second one is dominated by spicy, honey and fruity motifs.
Rum Barcelo Dorado golden
Ron Barceló Dorado - is a drink originally from the Dominican Republic. Due to its relatively low strength (37.5 degrees), it should also be classified as a rum elixir.
Like Captain Morgan, it is aged in American bourbon barrels.
However, unlike the namesake of the famous English pirate, its aging period does not exceed one and a half years.
The well-balanced fruit and woody flavor of the drink makes it an ideal ingredient for various cocktails. In fact, according to the producers, Barcelo Dorado was created for this very purpose.
Rum Caribbean Ronrico Gold Caribbean
Ronrico Gold Caribbean Rum - "adult" 40-degree drink of Puerto Rican origin.
Made from black molasses and aged in oak barrels for only a year.
Accordingly, it does not claim to be anything but an addition to mixes and cocktails. It goes especially well with fruit juices.
Tobacco Gold Rum
Rum Tobacco Gold - 40-degree cane distillate produced on the island of Guadeloupe and bottled in Spain.
It has a fruity and oaky flavor with pronounced notes of tannin.
Fans of this flavor bouquet recommend drinking it in its pure form, but this is a matter of personal preference.
