Caramel liqueur: a simple recipe at home

One of the most popular types of caramel is boiled condensed milk. Probably everyone remembers what a pleasure it is to eat it with a big spoon straight from the jar.

In addition to a wonderful treat, you can make caramel liqueur from it, with a rich taste and aroma. The finished liqueur is served as an independent drink as a digestif, after the main feast. But it also goes well with coffee or desserts.

Easy recipe for caramel liqueur

If you don't have rum on hand, you can replace it with vodka.

Ingredients

  1. Boiled condensed milk - 1 can

  2. Rum - 500 ml

  3. Water - 250 ml

  4. Freshly ground coffee - 4 tsp.

  5. Vanilla sugar - to taste

The method of preparation

  1. Brew strong coffee with 150 ml of water and then leave it to cool.

  2. Now combine the remaining 100 ml of water with condensed milk, bring to a boil and leave to cool to room temperature.

  3. Strain the coffee through a fine strainer or cheesecloth.

  4. Then add vanilla sugar to the condensed milk mixture and pour in the prepared coffee.

  5. After mixing thoroughly, pour the alcoholic component into the milk-coffee liquid and mix well again.

  6. Pour the drink into a glass bottle and refrigerate for several hours.

  7. Caramel liqueur is ready and you can start tasting.

  8. It is recommended to store the finished product in a cool place for no more than 2-3 months.

The finished product has a pronounced caramel flavor. Served as a standalone drink, but also goes well with coffee or desserts. Therefore, it is recommended to serve it as a digestif, after the main meal.

It tastes delicate with subtle notes of coffee and has a thick consistency. Also, caramel liqueur can be used as a base for cocktails, with its delicate taste, it will give any drink an unforgettable aftertaste.
