Landing gear liqueur: what is it + recipe at home

Chassis liqueur - this is a real man's drink that appeared thanks to a young pilot in the movie "Chronicle of a Diving Bomber". The hero of the film, Sobolevsky, invented a new liqueur that contained only two ingredients: raspberry syrup from Voentorg and an alcohol-glycerin mixture with a high ethyl alcohol content.
The history of the drink
In aviation during the Great Patriotic War, this mixture was used to refuel landing gear struts. It was produced in large 10-liter cans. Despite being a technical alcohol, it underwent a high degree of purification and could theoretically be ingested. This process was actually shown in this movie.
According to the characters in the movie, the Chassis liqueur was thick and viscous, and the raspberry syrup gave it a characteristic sweetness and a pleasant berry flavor.
Subsequently, this name was applied to all dubious homemade alcoholic beverages that contained an alcohol component. But still, for us, it sounds more familiar - "mumbo jumbo".
As you have already understood, it is not difficult to make such a liqueur at home. If you manage to get the same hydraulic fluid somewhere, which we doubt, you can try the original Chassis.
In the meantime, we offer you a recipe with more affordable ingredients. First, prepare a trial version with a minimum number of ingredients.
