Liqueur and tincture of grapefruit: 3 recipes at home

The drink has a fresh and intense grapefruit flavor with a characteristic light bitterness that makes it spicy.
The color of the finished product depends on the type of grapefruit and can vary from pale pink to light red.
Almost any alcoholic base can be used in the preparation process: vodka, alcohol, inexpensive cognac or moonshine without a strong odor. The strength of the finished liqueur ranges from 29 to 34 degrees.
Grapefruit liqueur recipe
Ingredients
Grapefruit - 2 pcs.
Vodka - 1 л
Granulated sugar - 400 g
Method of preparation
Scald grapefruits with boiling water, and rub well with a stiff sponge under running water to get rid of the wax that covers the fruit to extend the shelf life.
Cut the zest in a way convenient for you. It is important not to touch the white part, otherwise the finished liquor will be very bitter.
Put the zest in a glass container and pour vodka over it.
Squeeze the juice from the grapefruits and strain it through a strainer.
Cook from the juice and granulated sugar sugar syrup.
After the grapefruit syrup has cooled, pour it into a container with the zest and vodka.
Let it stand for 2 weeks at room temperature without daylight. Be sure to shake the contents of the container every 2-3 days.
After the time has elapsed, strain the finished liquor through cheesecloth and pass through a filter.
Pour the grapefruit drink into bottles, and after cooling, you can start tasting it.
Store the liquor in a cool, dark place for no more than five years.
An alternative recipe for grapefruit liqueur
Ingredients
The vodka - 500 ml of vodka
Grapefruit peel - at least from two fruits
Sugar - 50-100 g
The method of preparation
Cut the grapefruit peel into slices, put it in a jar and pour vodka on top.
Leave in a dark place for 1 day, strain.
Add sugar to taste, shake until completely dissolved. Let it brew for a week or two.
Keep in a cool place.
Grapefruit tincture
Ingredients
Grapefruit - 1 pc.
Vodka or alcohol - 500 ml
The method of preparation
Peel the grapefruit, cut the peel and pulp, put everything in a jar, pour vodka or alcohol, cork and leave to infuse.
The longer this tincture is infused, the tastier it will be.
Strain the finished tincture, and squeeze the pulp through cheesecloth in 4-5 layers.
Then filter and bottle it.
Grapefruit liqueur is best consumed chilled neat, but it also goes well with other ingredients in cocktails.
