Liqueur from the rose: 7 recipes at home

It is not difficult to make a fragrant and tasty liqueur from rose petals. It is important to choose the right flower, because a rose bought in the first flower shop is not suitable for this task.

Tips before you start

  1. The rose should be grown far from dusty roads and not treated with chemicals and various pesticides.

  2. The flowers of two types of plants Rosa rugosa (rose hip) and Rosa odorata (tea rose) are ideal for making liqueurs.

  3. Most liqueurs are made from freshly picked petals, as they have a richer flavor than dried ones.

  4. The most suitable time for picking flowers is early morning, while the sun is just beginning to "rise", but it is better to refrain from picking flowers in the morning after rain.

Classic tea rose liqueur (variant 1)

Ingredients

  1. Tea rose petals - 300 g

  2. Vodka - 1 л

  3. Granulated sugar - 1 kg

  4. Water - 1 liter

  5. Citric acid - 1 tsp.

Method of preparation

  1. Rose petals must be sorted out, spoiled and wilted ones must be removed, rinsed well in cool water.

  2. Mix the prepared petals with granulated sugar and grind in a blender (you can also grind through a meat grinder).

  3. Put the resulting pink slurry into a glass container, pour the alcohol base and water, mix thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  4. Insist in a dark place for 30 days.

  5. After the specified time, filter the liquor through a homemade or purchased filter, add citric acid and shake well.

  6. Pour the finished drink into glass bottles. Let it stand for 3-5 days in a cool place before tasting. Tea rose liqueur is perfectly stored in the refrigerator.

Classic tea rose liqueur (option 2)

The color of the finished liquor will be approximately the same color as the rose itself. In order for the shade to be saturated, it is better to use bright varieties.

Ingredients

  1. Tea rose petals - 500 g

  2. Food alcohol - 300 ml

  3. Granulated sugar - 700 g

  4. Water - 2.5 liters

  5. Citric acid - 2 h.л.

The method of preparation

  1. Rose petals should be sorted out, spoiled and wilted ones should be removed, rinsed well in cool water.

  2. Boil 2 liters of water, add citric acid and stir well.

  3. Pour the prepared rose petals with the hot mixture, close the lid tightly and leave to cool completely. Then refrigerate for 2 days.

  4. After the specified time has elapsed, strain the rose broth and squeeze out all the petals thoroughly.

  5. Make simple from the remaining water sugar syrup.

  6. When the syrup has cooled completely, mix it with the broth and alcohol. Stir everything well and pour into glass bottles.

  7. Before tasting, leave the tea rose liqueur for 14 days in a dark room. Store the finished drink in a cool place.

Pink liqueur "Taste of Persia"

The recipe for this rose liqueur was published in 1963 in the book Jagendorf, M. A "Folk wines, cognacs and brandies, how to make them".

Jagendorf recommends starting to prepare the drink in the first half of June. But if we take into account the hot climate of Persia, we can move this process to the end of June, beginning of July.

Ingredients

  1. Fragrant roses - 30 pieces.

  2. Water - 500 ml

  3. Sugar - 700 g (you may need more)

  4. Food alcohol - 1 л

Method of preparation

  1. Cut off the petals from 20 roses and put them in a glass container of a suitable size.

  2. Pour in the alcohol base and leave for 30 days in a cool dark place, remembering to shake it 2 times a week.

  3. After this time, strain the rose tincture through a fine strainer and squeeze the petals well.

  4. In a saucepan, mix water, granulated sugar and the remaining rose petals, bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour.

  5. After the syrup has cooled, strain it and mix it with the tincture. Let it brew for 12 hours.

  6. After the specified time, filter the liquor through a purchased or homemade filter, pour into glass bottles.

  7. Let it brew for about 2-3 weeks before tasting. Store the finished product in a cool, dark place for no more than 1 year.

Rose petal liqueur with raspberries

A wonderful ethereal fruit liqueur with a wonderful aroma and taste. It is interesting that in this drink, rose is inferior to raspberry in revealing flavors.

Ingredients

  1. Dried rose petals - 25 g

  2. Raspberries - 250 g

  3. Vodka - 750 ml

  4. Sugar syrup - 250 ml

  5. Zest of one tangerine

Method of preparation

  1. Put rose petals, tangerine zest (if desired, you can replace it with orange) in a glass container and pour the alcoholic base. Leave to stand for 5 days in a cool, dark place.

  2. After the specified time, strain the rose infusion through a sieve and mix it with the cooled sugar syrup. Let it brew for 14 days in a dark and cool place.

  3. After 2 weeks, the finished liquor must be filtered through a purchased or homemade filter and poured into glass bottles.

  4. Store the drink for no more than a year in a cool place.

Rose petal liqueur with strawberries

Ingredients

  1. Tea rose petals - 3 liters. a jar

  2. Strawberries - 2 cups

  3. Citric acid - 1 tbsp.

  4. Granulated sugar - 1 kg

  5. The vodka - 500 ml

  6. Water - 1 liter

The method of preparation

  1. Tea rose petals must be washed and slightly dried.

  2. Pour them into a 3-liter jar (without crushing them), add citric acid, alcohol base and whole strawberries (wash them and remove the stem).

  3. Cooking the classic sugar syrup.

  4. After the sugar syrup has cooled, pour it into a jar and mix the contents of the container well. If there is free space in the jar, then you need to fill it with plain boiled water at room temperature.

  5. Put the container in a dark place and let it brew for 3 weeks, shake our liqueur once a week.

  6. After the specified time, filter the finished liquor through a homemade or purchased filter and pour it into glass bottles.

  7. Before tasting, it must be aged for 1 month and stored in a cool, dark place.

Medicinal liqueur from rose petals "Pink Nocino"

This is a variation of the famous Italian liqueur Nocino, which is traditionally made from green walnuts.

It is important to know that it is not advisable to drink Pink Nocino every day, because it is mostly a medicinal drink, and it helps to treat stomach upsets.

The Poles, who have taken root in this liquor, claim that after drinking only 20-50 ml of this drink, the ailment will go away by itself.

Ingredients

  1. Rose petals - 2 handfuls

  2. Green walnuts - 20 pcs.

  3. Granulated sugar - 300 g

  4. Water - 300 ml

  5. Vodka - 300 ml

  6. Cinnamon stick - 3 cm

  7. Lemon zest of one lemon

The method of preparation

  1. Wash the nuts thoroughly, cut them in half and pierce them with an awl in 2-3 places.

  2. Cooking a simple sugar syrup with the addition of lemon zest, rose petals and cinnamon.

  3. Put the prepared nuts in a glass container, add the cooled syrup and pour the alcoholic base. Leave to stand in a sunny place for 2 months, shaking the liquor occasionally.

  4. After the specified time, strain the drink through a strainer and filter through a purchased or homemade filter.

  5. Pour into dark glass bottles and leave for another 3 months in a cool place. It is best to store the finished liqueur in the refrigerator.

Pink liqueur on cognac

Ingredients

  1. Water - 500 ml

  2. For the cognac - 500 ml

  3. Sugar - 250 g

  4. Fresh pink petals - 125 g

  5. Ground cinnamon - 4 g

The method of preparation

  1. Put clean, unspoiled pink petals in a jar, cover with cold water, close and leave for 2 days.

  2. Strain the liquid through cheesecloth, mix with cognac, cinnamon and sugar, mix well, close again and leave for 14 days.

  3. Carefully drain the liquor, filter it, and pour it into prepared dry bottles.
