Mint tincture: 5 recipes at home

Tips before you start
It is best to use Peppermint or Garden (Spearmint) mint.
The roots and stems of the plant impart bitterness, so do not use these parts.
If you want to keep the drink from turning from green to brown as long as possible, keep it in dark glass bottles.
Collect fresh mint during the flowering period away from roads, in ecologically clean places.
Mint tincture with vodka
Cooking time - 50-52 days.
Shelf life - 1 year in a cool, dark place.
If desired, the sweetness of the drink can be adjusted independently by reducing or increasing the amount of sugar.

Fresh mint - 50 g
Vodka - 500 ml
Sugar - 50-150 g
The method of preparation
Put mint leaves in a jar, crush with a wooden rolling pin.
Fill them with vodka, stir the contents.
Close the jar tightly with a lid and put it in a dark place for 45 days to insist at room temperature.
Shake the container every 5 days.
Filter the drink through cheesecloth, squeeze the leaves.
Add sugar and stir thoroughly.
Insist for another 5 days in a dark, warm place.
Then filter the tincture and pour it into the original bottle.
Mint tincture on moonshine
Preparation time - 32-35 days.
For the recipe, use well-purified, high-quality 40%-45% moonshine.
List of ingredients
Moonshine - 1 л
Peppermint - 30 g
Fresh or dried barberry berries - 4 tbsp. л.
Honey or sugar - 2 tbsp.
Water - 100-150 ml
The method of preparation
Wash and dry the mint.
Finely chop the leaves and place in a jar.
Mash barberry berries in a mortar with a wooden rolling pin.
Pour them into a container with mint and pour moonshine.
Put the container with the mixture in a dark place for 30 days to insist at a temperature of 18°C-20°C.
After the required time has elapsed, strain the liquid through a thick cheesecloth filter.
Prepare from water and sugar a simple syrup. Then cool it to room temperature.
Pour the syrup into the jar with the infusion and mix well.
Put the jar with the contents in a dark place for another 2-5 days.
Filter the tincture through cheesecloth and bottle it.
Mint tincture on alcohol
Preparation time - 10 days.

Dried mint 30-40 g
The vodka or 45-degree alcohol - 1 liter
Sugar - 200 g
Water - 200 ml
Method of preparation
Pour mint into a jar and cover with alcohol.
Put on a sunny windowsill for 3 days to infuse.
After the required time, strain the liquid through a cotton gauze filter.
Preparation a simple syrup.
Pour the alcohol-mint infusion into the hot syrup, slowly, stirring constantly.
Pour the mixture into a container.
Put in a dark place for 7 days to stand at room temperature.
Filter again and store in a cool place.
Mint tincture with lemon
Cooking time - 15-17 days. The drink has a slight sourness, improves appetite.

Vodka - 1 л
Fresh mint - 120 g
Lemon - 3 pieces.
Sugar - 250-400 g
The method of preparation
Wash the lemons and dry them with a paper towel.
Cut off the zest from the fruit, leaving only the yellow part (the white part gives bitterness)
Chop the mint leaves.
Put them with the zest in a jar, mix thoroughly.
Squeeze the juice from peeled lemons.
Pour it into a jar.
Pour vodka into the container and mix well.
Seal the jar and put it in a warm, dark place for 10 days.
Shake the liquid once a day.
Then strain the infusion through a cheesecloth filter.
Add sugar and mix thoroughly.
Put the container with the contents in a dark place at room temperature for 5-7 days to settle.
Filter the drink and pour it into a beautiful container.
Spicy mint tincture
Preparation time - 2 weeks.
List of ingredients
Vodka - 1 л
Dried peppermint - 100 g
Dill seeds - 40 g
Juniper berries - 12-15 g
Cinnamon - 3-5 g
Method of preparation
Pour mint, dill seeds, juniper berries and cinnamon into a jar.
Important! Only the berries of the common juniper, which is often found in the wild, can be used. Fruits of other species are considered poisonous and it is better not to experiment with them.
Stir the contents and fill with vodka.
Close the container tightly and put it in a dark, warm place for 2 weeks.
After the time has elapsed, strain the liquid.
Store in a cool place.
