Pomegranate syrup: 3 recipes at home

Tips before you start

  1. Pomegranates for syrup should be selected very carefully, feeling and inspecting each fruit. It should be dense, hard, without dents or damage.

  2. The peel should have a uniform color. A fruit that is too dark can hide overripe seeds, and conversely, if the skin is too light, it may indicate that the pomegranate was picked from the tree too early.

  3. The easiest way to peel a pomegranate is to do it in a clean bowl full of water. Divide the pomegranate into 4 pieces, dip in water and gently pick out the fruit grains with your fingers.

Recipe for pomegranate syrup with lemon juice

Ingredients

  1. Pomegranates - 4 pcs.

  2. Sugar - 800 g

  3. Lemon juice - 2 tbsp.

The method of preparation

  1. Rinse the peeled grains with water to check for films. After the water treatment, they are dried in a colander.

  2. Then cover the grains with sugar and mix everything well. To make the pomegranate juice, go through the grains with a pestle.

  3. Put the bowl of candied fruit in the cold for 10 to 12 hours. You can extend this time up to 20 hours.

  4. After keeping the pomegranate juice with sugar for the prescribed time, strain the mass. To make the most of the juice, squeeze the grains through a cheesecloth bag.

  5. The syrup is put on medium heat and cooked for 20 minutes, stirring continuously. 2 minutes before cooking, add 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the liquid.

Recipe for pomegranate syrup with water

The method of preparation

  1. Put the clean seeds of five pomegranates in the bowl of a blender-crusher and cover with 100 milliliters of water.

  2. After 2 minutes of operation, the grains turn into pomegranate juice with seeds. It is filtered through a sieve covered with a cloth and poured into a small saucepan.

  3. Instead of sugar, powder is used in this recipe. The amount of powdered sugar and pomegranate juice is taken from a 1:1 ratio.

  4. "Grenadine is cooked until thickened for half an hour over low heat. To acidify the finished product and ensure its better preservation, add ½ teaspoon of citric acid to the syrup a minute before cooking.

The method of preparation

Ready-made pomegranate juice will help you make Grenadine quickly. Only when choosing the main ingredient, do not skimp and do NOT buy a low quality product.

Take juice and sugar in equal proportions. Put the products in a cooking bowl and boil at a minimum heat level for 15 minutes, stirring constantly and removing the foam that has formed. Homemade pomegranate juice Grenadine is ready!
