Lemon syrup: 3 recipes at home

Lemon syrup can be used to make drinks and natural lemonades. Just like a natural preservative.

You can also use this syrup to pour over meat and dessert dishes.

The classic lemon syrup recipe

Ingredients

  1. Add sugar - 650 g

  2. Lemon juice - 1 liter

Method of preparation

  1. Pour freshly squeezed strained lemon juice into a saucepan with sugar and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 15 minutes.

  2. Pour the syrup into bottles while it is hot, but close when it cools down.

  3. Dilute in cold water to taste.

Lemon syrup recipe with water

Ingredients

  1. Sugar - 1 kg

  2. Lemon - 10 pieces.

  3. Water - 500 ml

Method of preparation

  1. Squeeze the juice from the lemons. To avoid getting citrus seeds or pulp particles into the final product, strain it.

  2. Prepare a basic syrup from water and sugar and add freshly squeezed juice to it.

  3. To thicken the liquid, stew it on fire for a quarter of an hour. If the consistency seems liquidy, then continue cooking for up to half an hour.

Recipe for lemon syrup with zest

Ingredients

  1. Sugar - 500 g

  2. Lemon juice - 300 ml (5 lemons)

  3. Zest - 10 g

Method of preparation

  1. Scald the lemons with boiling water and remove the wax with paper towels, then peel with a fine grater.

  2. Squeeze the juice from 5 lemons. Strain the squeezed juice through a sieve.

  3. Filter the juice and pour it into a saucepan, add sugar. Heat stirring until sugar dissolves.

  4. Then bring to a low boil and turn off after 2 minutes. Add lemon zest.

  5. Pour the finished syrup into a glass bottle. Store in the refrigerator. Consume as needed.
