Nemyriv vodka: history, overview of types + interesting facts

Nemiroff is a brand with a century and a half of history, represented on 5 continents. The production dates back to 1872 in the city of Nemyriv, where the largest distillery in Podillia was opened after reconstruction.

A century and a half ago, the principles that the company successfully follows today were formed: high quality requirements, adherence to ancient recipes, continuous improvement of production and the search for new flavors.

Brand history and production specifics

The history of Nemiroff vodka stretches back to time immemorial: even when there was no official production, the small town of Nemyriv was already famous for its distilleries. In 1872, Count Stroganov managed to unite independent producers, thanks to which the local alcoholic beverage became popular throughout the country.

Soon, the owner of the plant changed, and in 1906, the production level rose to a record high of 5,000 bottles per day. The main buyers of the product were Moscow, St. Petersburg, and some European countries.

The turning point for the company was 1992. Then all the old equipment was scrapped, and a new, modern plant was built in its place.

In 2003 and 2004, the company's turnover reached colossal levels, as reported in the British magazine Drinks International.

And in 2005, Nemiroff was recognized as one of the best vodkas in the world, able to compete even with such brands as Absolut and Smirnoff.

Over the past 15 years, Nemiroff has received more than 70 prestigious international awards, including honors from the Chicago Beverage Tasting Institute, The Vodka Masters, San Francisco World Spirits Competition, The Superior Taste Awards, International Spirits Challenge, Mixology Taste Forum, World Drinks Award, The Global Spirits Masters International Competition, Wine Enthusiast, The London Spirits Competition, The Fifty Best...

Today, Nemyriv is represented in 80 countries, is among the TOP-10 global vodka brands and TOP-3 suppliers of vodka in Duty Free stores.

Types of Nemiroff vodka

The Nemiroff range includes more than thirty different types of vodka, but only six of them are globally popular. We will discuss them below, as the rest of the varieties are unlikely to be found outside Ukraine.

  1. Original

The first author's drink by Nemiroff, created for those who appreciate uncompromising quality.

The perfect combination of natural ingredients and compliance with international production standards has resulted in a vodka with a strong flavor and a pleasant tart aftertaste with notes of cumin and natural honey.

The high quality of the product is recognized by international connoisseurs and confirmed by numerous awards: Mixology Taste Forum, International Spirits Challenge, Chicago Tasting Institute.

  2. Delikat

One of the brand's highlights, made according to a unique recipe, the development of which took the company more than a month.

After distillation, the raw materials are filtered only naturally (through birch and coconut charcoal), which gives the vodka a real mineral flavor.

The aftertaste is complemented by notes of lemon balm and natural linden honey.

  3. Lex

Lex vodka is popularly called a "super premium product".

First of all, this name comes from the relatively high price per bottle, however, the cost of this vodka is fully justified.

After blending, the vodka is infused for a long time. "Resting", as they say at the factory.

Due to this, the vodka is fully revealed only when chilled: the flavor of juniper berries and anise aroma are felt in the drink.

  4. De Luxe series

A premium series represented by three drinks with their own unique taste and character.

Rested in Barrel - vodka, aged in wooden barrels, absorbs spices, light sweetness, tartness of oak bark and rich woody aroma. The taste of the drink is full of unexpected facets and exclusive shades.

Honey Pepper - the combination of red chili pepper, natural honey and a mixture of herbs and spices gives the drink a rich, multifaceted flavor.

De Luxe series - the drink is made according to the author's recipe in compliance with high production standards on the basis of natural ingredients, pure natural water and "Luxe" class alcohol. High pressure, temperature and 11 stages of filtration turn this vodka into a symphony of perfect, rich flavor with a slight hint of linden.

  5. Honey Pepper

One of the most extravagant vodkas on the world market.

Only gourmets who are not afraid to experiment with familiar drinks can appreciate it.

The velvety taste is set off by notes of caramel and nougat, and there is also a subtle taste of honey.

The sharp flavor is due to the presence of chili peppers and meadow herbs in the recipe. In a word, this vodka will really not be to the taste of every drinker.

  6. Wild Cranberry

The only vodka from the brand with a strength of 37.5 degrees, as well as a really long aftertaste.

The manufacturer strongly recommends drinking this vodka slowly in order to enjoy the original taste of a quality product - it harmoniously combines light berry sourness and the power of natural minerals.

This vodka is most often used as a base for most cocktails.
