Bitter tinctures: 13 recipes at home

The first alcoholic tinctures based on spices, herbs and fruits appeared in Russia in the XVIII century. At that time, such drinks were called "Yerofeyich" in honor of the clever count's barber Yerofey, who cured the owner with one of these products.
Tincture "Traditional"
Ingredients
Anise - 150 g
Vodka - 3 liters
Mint - 150 g
Chopped nuts - 150 g
The method of preparation
Pour the solid ingredients into a glass container, pour one and a half liters of vodka.
Keep the mixture in the dark for 12 days.
Drain the liquid, set aside.
Soak the thick mass with the remaining vodka, put it in the heat for 10-12 days to infuse.
Filter the resulting substance and mix it with the first infusion, distribute it in bottles.
Tincture "Spicy"
Ingredients
Vodka - 0.5 liters
Honey - 60 g
Zubrivka - 4 sprigs
Thyme - 4 sprigs
Chopped oak bark - 2 g
Coriander - 2 g
Thyme - 2 g
The method of preparation
Sweeten alcohol with honey.
Pour the mixture of herbs and seeds into a jar, pour in sweet vodka.
Seal the vessel well, put it in the cool for 2 to 3 months.
Strain the liquid through a filter, pour into a bottle and transfer to the cold.
Tincture "Citrus and seed"
Pre-chop the citrus peel and iris root.
Ingredients
Cumin - 40 g
Dill seeds - 50 g
Anise - 50 g
Vodka - 1 liter
Dry lemon zest - 50 g
Dry yellow iris root - 40 g
Sugar - 20 g
Method of preparation
Mix the solid ingredients well, pour into a glass container and soak in vodka.
Shake the closed vessel and transfer to the dark for 11 days, shaking the contents daily.
Pour the infusion through a filter, sweeten, seal and send it back to the dark for 11 days.
Tincture "Cardamom"
You can make the drink without sugar: it will be more bitter and concentrated.
Ingredients
Cardamom - 40 g
Vodka - 2 liters
Sugar - 200 g
The method of preparation
Grind cardamom in a porcelain mortar.
Pour the spicy mass with vodka, keep in a warm place for 20 days.
Sweeten with sugar if desired, mix well.
Strain the drink through a cloth.
Tincture "Cumin"
Ingredients
Caraway seeds - 5-6 g
Boiled water - 1 liter
Sugar - 450-550 g
Vodka - 1 liter
The method of preparation
Soak caraway seeds in vodka, let the drink soak for several days in warmth.
Pass the infusion through several layers of fabric, pour in water, sweeten.
After dissolving the sugar, transfer the product to small vessels.
Currant tincture "Contabas"
The drink is made from unblown blackcurrant buds, which are harvested in mid-spring.
Twigs are also suitable, but the infusion will be coarser.
The amount of raw materials depends on the volume of the container - it should take up about half of the vessel, vodka will need about 1.5-2 times more - to completely cover the buds.
The finished product has a beautiful emerald green hue and a pleasant sweetish aroma, but is stored for no more than two weeks. After a short time, the drink begins to deteriorate: the color changes to brown, a sediment and an unpleasant odor appear.

The method of preparation
Rinse the kidneys, put them in a glass container, pour vodka.
Cover the vessel with gauze, put it in the sun or in the basement.
Keep the drink for 1 to 6 weeks, keeping track of color changes.

Tincture "Linden"
Sugar can be replaced with honey by adding a few spoons at any stage of the drink's production. Anise, ginger, and mint also go well with linden raw materials.

Pour the flower mass into a container, pour alcohol, leave to soak for 2-3 weeks, tightly closing the vessel with a lid and placing it in the dark.
Filter the drink, brew hot sugar syrup, strain, wait for it to cool and pour into the linden infusion.
Seal the container, shake, keep in the cold for half a month.
Tincture "Loch Ness"
Ingredients
Vodka - 1 liter
Honey - 30 g
Loch Ness flowers - 100 g
Method of preparation
Soak the flower raw materials in vodka, shake the container and seal it tightly.
Transfer to the dark for 20 days, drain through a filter, place in small bottles.
Tincture "Carrot"
Ingredients
Dried carrots - ½ cup
Vodka - 0.5 l
Method of preparation
Pour carrots into a bottle, fill the container with vodka, shake.
Keep the sealed container for 1 day at room temperature, strain the infusion, pour into small bottles.
Tincture "Spicy honey"
Ingredients
Honey - 50-80 g
Vodka - 1 liter
Chopped oak bark - 10 g
Thyme - 10 g
Melissa - 10 g
Coriander seeds - 10 g
Zubrivka herb - 10 g

Sweeten the vodka with honey, pour the herbal mixture with the resulting liquid, shake well.
Seal the vessel, transfer to a cool place for 2.5 - 3 months.
Strain the resulting infusion, pass through a filter, place in small bottles and seal.
Ginseng tincture
Ingredients
Vodka - 0.5 l
Honey - 10 g
Ginseng root - 40 g

Grind ginseng, put it in a container with vodka, let it stand for several days at room temperature.
Drain the infusion through several layers of cloth, add honey, send for storage in a dark place, tightly sealing the bottle.
Tincture "Dill"
Ingredients
Dill (herbs) - 10 g
Vodka - 1 liter
Cinnamon - a pinch
The method of preparation
Chop the washed and dried dill, season with cinnamon, and add to the vodka.
Seal the vessel, let the liquid soak in, keeping it in the cold and dark for a month.
Pour the strained infusion into small containers and keep cool.
Tincture "Pine"
Ingredients
Boiled water - 0.7 liters
Vodka - 0.9 liters
Sugar - 5 g
Green pine cones - 6 pcs
Pine needles - 3 tbsp. л
The method of preparation
Put the cones in a large jar, pour in alcohol, close the container.
Send the liquid to the cool for 21 days, shake the contents weekly.
After the expiration of the term, crush the needles, add to the infusion, add sugar and pour water.
Insist the drink for about 1 month, then decant and transfer to smaller containers.
