Blue Curacao liqueur: 4 recipes at home

Spicy Caribbean liqueur from Curacao - predominantly a cocktail drink. Drinking it in its pure form, even with ice, is an extremely dubious pleasure.
The alcoholic base for this rather strong drink (20-30 degrees) is wine alcohol. In addition to alcohol, the classic composition of Blue Curacao liqueur includes: bitter orange peel, water, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg. But, in principle, slight variations in spices are allowed.
Why the liquor is blue
Blue or blue color, as well as yellow, green or orange color, the originally transparent liquor acquires its transparent color due to food coloring of vegetable or chemical origin. At the same time, color differences do not affect the taste.
Therefore, for those who want to make something Curacao-like with their own hands, we recommend not to bother and opt for the transparent version.
Well, if, nevertheless, the soul or the entourage of the cocktail requires, then you can buy an ordinary food coloring and drip it into the finished drink until it reaches the desired shade.
