Louis Royer cognac: a guide to alcohol

About the Louis Royer brand
Louis Royer cognac production was founded in 1853 by Louis Royer, a master cognac blender in France. The brand does not have its own vineyards and purchases raw materials from other renowned cognac producers. The company's suppliers include the best estates from the Grand Champagne, Bon Bois, Fen Bois, and other regions.
Today, the company has had several generations of owners. The heirs of the founder honor the traditions he established, creating Louis Royer cognac according to time-tested recipes.
Each spirit is diluted to a strength of 50-55%, and then poured into barrels of Limousin oak. All the company's barrels are made without the use of metal fasteners and adhesives that can affect the taste of alcohol - and, as a result, the finished cognac. The next stage after the alcohol is aged in a barrel is the assembly.
The Louis Royer logo depicts a bee, a universally recognized symbol of hard work. It is the consistent work on the creation of unique cognacs that has allowed the company to reach the peak it is at now.
The history of Louis Royer
Louis Royer, the founder of the cognac house, spent his childhood in the small town of Jarnac, which stood on the banks of the Charente River. Caring for vines and distillation processes have always interested the boy, so at the age of 20 he became an apprentice at one of the wineries in the city. Four years later, Rouillier gained enough experience in distilling and blending to open his own business. In 1853, he built cellars for storage, where he stored blends. Then came the distillation shop and the barrel house.
In 1989, the Louis Royer cognac house became part of the large Japanese concern Suntory, which modernized the production. The quality of the drink has reached a new level, and the cognac house has managed to become a leader in the international cognac market with a huge range of products.
In the late 90s. this cognac house was one of the first to promote a series of single vineyard cognacs, each of which is made from raw materials produced in one of the five sub-regions where this drink is produced.
In 2003, the company was modernized. The installation of a modern bottling line made it possible to double production volumes.
