White stork: history, overview, species, interesting facts

One of the best examples of Moldovan distillation, which has become its symbol and business card, is now produced at 2 plants: in Balti and Chisinau.
In Soviet times, the famous divine wine, popularly known as cognac, was so popular that it was often subject to counterfeiting, and not only in Moldova...
The history of the brand
The championship in the production of the legendary brandy belongs to the Beltsy Wine and Cognac Factory. It was here that in 1978 a trial batch of a specialty drink was produced to distinguish Moldovan alcohol from the famous Armenian and Georgian cognacs.
The technology and recipe of the new product was developed by the specialists of the SPE "Yaloven". The name for the drink was borrowed from an ancient legend. It says that storks saved Moldovans besieged by Turkish troops from starvation by bringing them grape bunches in their beaks. This heroic episode turned the white-winged birds into a symbol of local winemaking and gave the name to the popular cognac.
In 1979, the industrial production of ordinary divine "Belîi Aist" was launched, which in the following years was also produced in Tiraspol, Calarasi and Chisinau. Soon the brand turned into the most recognizable and respected Moldovan brand, taking its rightful place among local wines.
