The drink is based on molasses. For five years, the spirits are distilled in oak barrels, carefully filtered, and then extracts of carefully selected herbs and spices are added to the distillate. The history of Sang Som rum
1977: Charoen Siriwadhanabhakdi, Taloeng Laochinda and Chula Kanchanalak, experienced in the liquor business, acquired the Tharnnamthip company, which was engaged in the production of scotch. The name was changed to Sang Som Company.
The same year, Sang Som rum was already on the market. It was created by Chula Kanchanalak. The drink quickly became one of the most successful in the history of the Thai alcoholic beverage industry.
2003: The company became part of Thai Beverage Plc. This was followed by limited exports to other countries.
2020: The rum is available in 0.3 liters and 0.7 liters. The first one is also sold in a cocktail set: alcohol, Coca-Cola, ice and straws are put in a bucket. You can buy it in Thai shops, restaurants, bars and airports, but it will cost a little more.
Annual sales volume reaches 70 million liters. This applies to both the domestic and foreign markets. Exported to more than 20 countries.
Sang Som rum review
Sang Som Special Rum, 40%. Has a dark honey color. Mild natural flavor with a herbal character. Fennel, cinnamon and eucalyptus notes are noticeable in the aroma, there is a hint of orange peel.

Rum can be consumed undiluted by adding ice. Various variations in cocktails are popular, for example, with sprite, cola, juices. Exotic fruits will harmonize with it as appetizers.
