How to choose a cognac: choose a drink for the event

I would like to make a reservation right away that this article will not contain information on how to identify a fake. This topic requires much more attention and is covered in this article.
Below you will find information on how to choose the right cognac for the right event, what snacks to use and when to serve the drink to the table.
How to choose cognac in the store?
When you come to the store to buy cognac, it is important to clearly define the purpose for which you are doing it. This will help you choose the right drink. In this case, the correctness does not mean the quality or authenticity of the product, but its compliance with the event you are planning.
For example, if you decide to organize a youth cocktail party, you will need a simpler cognac. In this case, suitable ordinary grape brandies made using cognac technology in the countries of the former USSR. You must admit that mixing vintage or collectible drinks, not to mention French cognacs, with cola or orange juice smells like vandalism.
Cognac for a feast
If you are choosing a drink for a feast (for hot dishes or cold snacks), you can also choose post-Soviet brands with an aging period of up to 5 years or even buy real French cognac of the same age... At the same time, I would recommend harder drinks. In the case of brandy, these are Armenian, Georgian and Moldovan varieties, such as: "Ararat", "Noah Araspel", "Aragvi" or "Black Stork". However, Ukrainian "Borisfen", "Desna" and "Tavria" will also be quite appropriate.
As a dessert drink, you should give preference to softer ordinary options. For example, in this situation, grape brandy varieties produced in the Ukrainian Transcarpathia (three- and five-star "Tysa" and four-star "Zakarpatsky"), as well as Odesa "Shustov" and Moldovan "White Stork" have proven themselves to be excellent...
Cognac as a digestif
And finally, the culmination of the involvement in cognac - digestifs. This is an undisputed area of application for French cognacs from the Extra Old series (X.O.), as well as vintage and collection varieties of post-Soviet grape brandy. At the same time, if you are going to complement your afternoon relaxation in the company of a cognac glass with a good cigar, you should focus on more rigid brands of the drink. Armenian or Georgian vintage and collection cognac analogues, as well as authentic drinks from Hennessy (in particular, made from Hennesy "Davidoff" spirits), Martell (for example, "Cohiba") and Courvoisier are ideal for this purpose.
