Renault cognac: a guide to alcohol

About the Renault cognac brand
The Renault Cognac House was founded in 1835 by Jean-Antoine Renault. In the XIX century, he was one of the first to supply cognac not in barrels, as was customary before, but in bottles, thanks to which he achieved great popularity in the markets of Great Britain and the Scandinavian countries.
Interestingly, the production and sales office of Renault are located in the same place. The company owns 341 hectares of land near the town of Ruayan in Sharan. The distillation shop, barrel house, bottle factory and administrative building are located here. Own vineyards in Chateau de Ligner provide 18% of the company's needs. The plantings are located at an altitude of more than 150 meters above sea level, so the vine does not suffer from late frosts.
In the distillation shops, 64 distillation cubes are continuously working during the season. The factory is so large that the craftsmen move around it on bicycles. Processing lasts for five months after harvest, with no breaks even during the Christmas holidays. Young spirits are bottled in barrels. Two-thirds of the containers are made of Trondheim oak, the rest - of Limousin oak.
