Tsarga for a moonshine still: what it is and how to make it yourself
The easiest way to modernize the distiller is to install a still, which allows you to better clean the moonshine from impurities. The device is a metal pipe with a cellular filler (nozzle), which is attached to the still. Next, the rest of the apparatus is connected: the drying tank and the refrigerator.
The degree of purification depends on the size of the still: the longer it is, the better the product is obtained at the output. However, it is incorrect to compare this device with a distillation column. Even on stills with a still, it is recommended to perform the distillation twice.
Tsarga allows you to improve the quality of moonshine by 3-4 times
For example, a 15-centimeter pipe gives a 20-fold degree of purification, a 30-centimeter pipe - 50-fold, etc. д. In this case, the multiplicity refers to the number of interactions of condensate with the nozzle, and not to the number of times the alcohol becomes purer.
To improve the device with the help of a tzarga, you will need minimal skills in working with construction tools: a grinder, a drill, a welding machine, a soldering iron, etc. д.
Preparation of materials
Stainless steel is best suited for the manufacture of a cleaning device. This durable metal is safe, inert to alcohol and can withstand high temperatures.
Alternatively, copper can be used.
It is better to refuse aluminum, as it can affect the characteristics of the product.
When choosing the size of the pipe, do not chase the length too much. It is worth remembering that along with the increase of purification properties of the still, the speed of distillation slows down. The optimal length range is 15-45 cm. If necessary, it will be possible to supplement the design and add another still or even several.
You will also need a filler made of stainless steel or Panchenkov nozzle.
The most affordable option is an ordinary kitchen sponge that is used to clean pots and pans. For a 20 cm pipe, you need about 3 metal sponges, for a longer length - 4-5 pcs. Even better, use a special Panchenkov nozzle or small spiral springs with a diameter of 2-3 mm.
A lot of cellular material is needed: it should fill the entire internal space of the pipe, but not interfere with the free movement of vapors and liquids. To fix the nozzles, you need a mesh (also stainless), which can be cut from an old kitchen sieve. To connect the king to the cube and other elements of the apparatus, you need fittings (ideally stainless or copper, in extreme cases - brass), silicone gaskets, nuts.
Tsarga: manufacturing instructions
Install a threaded fitting on the lid of the distillation still, securing it with two nuts with a hermetic silicone gasket or welding (if the still is made of stainless steel).
Make an internal thread on one of the ends of the pipe so that it fits the fitting and can be easily screwed onto it. The length of the thread should be at least 3 cm so that the collar can withstand the weight of other elements of the device.
Apply a thread in the upper part of the banner to connect the steam pipe or an additional section of the banner.
A few centimeters below the upper thread, make a hole, screw a piece of pipe about 3-4 cm long into it, having previously provided it with a thread. This is a socket for a thermometer probe, which must be inserted with a silicone seal.
At the bottom of the pipe, fix a mesh and fill in the filler.
Connect the still with the steam pipe and other elements of the apparatus.
