What to drink beer with: suitable snacks + a selection of recipes

The classic Soviet pairing of beer and taranka is a timeless combination. But experts in food pairing (the art of competently combining products) are skeptical: dried fish does not improve the taste of the drink at all, but simply interrupts it.

The main rules of beer food-pairing
It is optimal to choose not snacks for beer, but beer for snacks.
Combining foamy alcohol and food should be based on one of 3 principles: similarity of flavors, contrast or similarity of textures.
Light beer is best served with light dishes, malt beer - with sweet dishes, and hop and bitter beer - with spicy dishes.
Beer is good for "cleansing the receptors" after fatty and spicy dishes.

Crispy bacon
You can microwave bacon on a wire rack or in a plate covered with a paper napkin on the bottom and top. It is not recommended to open the door during cooking, the readiness of the dish will be indicated by the hissing and crackling ceasing.

Finely chop the raw fish.
Put the slices in a large bowl, pour over freshly squeezed lime juice.
Add salt, spices, sliced onion, garlic if desired.
Let the mass marinate for 15 minutes.
Spicy baked wings
Juicy and tasty hot appetizer that takes a little over 1 hour to prepare. Instead of baking in the oven, the wings can be fried in a pan in hot vegetable oil or grilled.

Ingredients

Flour - for rolling
Vegetable oil - for greasing
Salt, spices, hot sauce - to taste
Method of preparation
Cut the raw wings into 3 pieces, put them in a deep dish, season with salt, pepper, sauce, and roll well in flour.
Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil, put the chicken on it, put it in a preheated oven for half an hour.
Turn the wings over, bake for another half hour.
Pour the hot sauce over the dish, keep in the oven for 5-10 minutes.
Cheese salad

Ingredients
Cheese - 100 g
Garlic - 1 head
Egg - 1 pc.
Mayonnaise - 2-3 tbsp.

Boil the egg hard-boiled, cut into cubes, add to the cheese and garlic mixture.

Mix the batter with flour, salt and spices.

Chicken satay
The oriental dish with spicy sauce is perfectly complemented by brown ale.

Chicken breasts - 4 pcs.
Peanut oil - 3 tbsp.
Soy sauce - 4 tbsp.
Lemon/lime juice - ½ cup
Sugar - 1 tbsp.
Ginger, garlic, turmeric, coriander, chili pepper - to taste
The method of preparation
Cut the breast into strips.
Mix the remaining ingredients into a thick sauce and pour it over the meat.
Soak the chicken for half an hour to half a day, bake on the grill, skewers or in the oven.
Shrimps in wine

Ingredients
Shrimp - any amount
Garlic - 5 cloves
Olive oil - for frying
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp.
Wine - to taste
Parsley - to taste
Method of preparation
Chop the garlic, fry in olive oil.
Peel the shrimps, throw them into the garlic mixture.
Add lemon juice, wine and chopped parsley.
Keep on low heat for 5-10 minutes.
Cheese sticks
It is better to choose neutral cheeses for light beer, and spicy and sweet cheeses for dark beer. The oil should completely cover the sticks during frying.

Ingredients
Hard cheese - ½ kg
Flour - 0.2 kg
Eggs - 3 pcs.
Milk/water - ½ cup
Breadcrumbs - 100 g
Sunflower oil - for frying
Salt, spices - to taste
The method of preparation
Beat eggs with milk, spices and salt.
Add flour to the mass and mix.
Cut the cheese into slices 1-2 cm wide and 8-10 cm long.
Dip each stick in the egg-milk mixture and roll in breadcrumbs.
Boil vegetable oil in a deep container, fry the sticks in it for 2-5 minutes.
Dry the sticks on a paper towel, eat hot.
Ribs with sauce

Ingredients
Pork/beef ribs - 1 kg
Vegetable oil - 4 tbsp. л.
Honey - 2 tbsp.
Tomato paste - 1 tbsp.
Orange juice - 2 tbsp.
Mustard - 1 tsp.
Garlic, pepper - to taste
Method of cooking
Mix all ingredients except meat.
Pour the marinade over the ribs, leave overnight.
Preheat the oven, bake the meat for about 1 hour, basting occasionally with the marinade.
